xJane of Mind on Fire shares three versions of one song: Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus,” with their version and the versions by Johnny Cash and Marilyn Manson. Each version gives a different spin on the song just by how its played.
It probably won’t surprise you to know that of the covers, I prefer Manson’s wicked take. Not that I dislike the Cash version — not by a long shot. But I’ve had a weakness for Manson’s covers of classic songs ever since “Sweet Dreams (are made of this).” The Dude knows how to bring out the psychotic edge in pop songs.

Amen to that! I heart Manson, which is something I can’t admit in a lot of arenas :-p I also like his Fight Song, which may be a future Monday

See, I like admitting it in certain arenas, because it often clears up just what kind of person I’m dealing with. If they react in an “oh, so by atheist you mean worshiper of Satan” kind of way, I know to walk away quietly. And quickly, often.
